For consideration as an Austin Bank Star, it is a requirement that employees exhibit several particular characteristics. They must embrace the Bank’s core values of honesty, service and confidentiality; display a positive attitude; and consistently work for the betterment of the team as a whole. This month’s Star has been a member of the Austin Bank team for 16 years and takes great pride in her service to customers and the Bank. She personifies the required characteristics consistently and it is our privilege to recognize Debbie Perkins, Teller Operations Supervisor in Marshall, as our June Star of the Month.
“Debbie is a great coworker to have,” shares Heather Bradford, Customer Service Representative in Marshall. “She is always helpful and willing to do what is needed around the office. Our customers love her and always ask about her if she is out.” Her compassion for others and patience provide a comforting atmosphere for all who have the pleasure to interact with her. Always the first to offer a helping hand, Debbie’s commitment to professionalism and making sure tasks are completed correctly makes a difference in the day-to-day operations at Marshall.
A member of the Austin Bank team since 2005, she has demonstrated her loyalty and dedication to the company, and shares the knowledge she has gained through the years with new employees by serving as a Teller trainer and Mentor. Debbie has more than 21 years in the banking industry and readers of the Marshall News Messenger have recognized her as Best Bank Teller.
She and her husband, Randy, live on Caddo Lake in Karnack. They have three daughters and eight grandchildren. Debbie enjoys sewing, woodworking and all types of other crafts. In addition, rumor has it she is also an excellent cook. She is a graduate of Northwood High School in Shreveport, Louisiana and attended Northwestern State University where she studied Social Work.
