February 2022 - Star of the Month - Lance Warne

Evolving technologically is at the heart of Austin Bank’s efforts to better serve our customers.  As we do so, it is critical to have team members with the knowledge to implement new technology and the skills to productively communicate with coworkers to achieve results.  This month’s Star was nominated for possessing those very qualities.  Congratulations to Lance Warne, Systems Administrator in Whitehouse, on his selection as the February 2022 Star of the Month.

“Lance is an absolute pleasure to work with,” states Diana Murray, VP/Compliance and Project Analyst.  “He is very intuitive when assisting on projects and can navigate complex tasks easily.  Lance’s laid back, approachable nature makes working with him a breeze.”  As a Systems Administrator, Lance is responsible for several major software solutions for the Bank and whether it is a large project or a small one, he is always more than willing to help.  He provides support for the systems to Bank employees and works with vendors to find solutions for problems.  Katie Branton, VP/In-House Mortgage Department Supervisor shares, “Lance always goes above and beyond to help his coworkers – or what he considers his customers.  He spent months working on our loan operating system that involved two different vendors, but with his persistence, he resolved the issue.  His ability to relate to others is immeasurable.”

Joining the Austin Bank team in 2017, Lance brought with him several years of information technology (IT) experience from Wood Networks and Wells Fargo.  He has shared that experience with new employees serving as a Mentor in the Bank’s mentorship program.  Lance is a graduate of Stevens High School in Rapid City, South Dakota; Southeast Technical Institute and Bellevue University.  Lance and his wife, Meegan, live in Tyler and enjoy watching performances at the UT Tyler Cowan Center including the East Texas Symphony Orchestra.  In his free time, he likes to hunt and fish.  They are members of Green Acres Baptist Church.

“Lance is a great employee and we are lucky to have him in IT.  He has a consistent positive attitude and regularly goes out of his way to help anyone with anything at any time.  He is a great team member and definitely deserving of this Star recognition.”

John Ory, SEVP/Chief Operations Officer, Longview Greggton

“A valuable member of the IT team, Lance is both very knowledgeable and very easy to work with.  He is a good communicator and works well with all of his teammates.”

Jeff Sowell, SVP/Chief Technology Officer, Whitehouse

“Lance is an outstanding employee, coworker and overall person.  He is a blessing to have on our staff, adhering to our moral and ethical standards in all he does.  His honesty and positive attitude improve his interactions with everyone.”

Seth New, VP/Network Support Manager, Longview Greggton
