Jeff Austin III, Chairman of the Board, announced the opening of Austin Bank’s 41st location in Willis under the direction of Weldon Whitt and Meredith Todd. Scheduled to open in the 4th quarter of 2025, Willis will further expand the bank’s Southeast Texas service area.
“Expanding into Willis is a natural progression for Austin Bank,” stated Mr. Austin, “and we are pleased to have Weldon and Mere join our team to lead in the opening of our newest location.”
With over 14 years’ experience in the financial services industry, Meredith “Mere” Todd has been hired as Retail Office Manager for the bank’s newest office in Willis. Mere joins the bank from Woodforest National Bank in Conroe, where she was a retail branch manager. She started with the company as a retail banker in 2011, and was promoted to branch management in 2017.
With a passion for community service, she is highly active in the community, serving as a mentor with Project Mentor for Conroe ISD; board member and committee member of The Friends of Conroe, and Assistant Chairman for both the Scholarship Chili Cook Off and Scholarship Trail Ride committees for the Montgomery County Fair Association.
Weldon Whitt, Senior Vice President, Commercial Lender, who will oversee lending operations in the Wills area, brings with him over 21 years of banking experience. He comes to Austin Bank from Plains State Bank in Conroe, where he served as Vice President and met customer lending needs. Prior to Plains State Bank, Whitt worked for Tradition Bank in the Woodlands for nine years as a lending officer and at First National Bank Texas in Conroe for 18 months as an assistant branch manager.
Whitt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Sam Houston State University. Active in his community, Whitt is a member of the Montgomery County Fair BBQ Cook-off Committee and serves as leader and head cook for the men’s ministry at Lone Star Cowboy Church.
