June 2025 - Star of the Month - Jasiee Harris

There are as many different management styles as there are managers, but there is one quality that sets truly great managers apart from the rest – they discover what is unique about each person and then capitalize on it.  Great managers know and value the unique abilities of their team members and learn how best to utilize them.  This month’s Star was chosen for her ability to discern the needs of her team members and customers, and the maturity and grace modeled in every interaction.  Please join us in congratulating Jasiee Harris, Retail Office Manager in Big Sandy, on her selection as our June Star of the Month.

Jasiee came to work for the bank in 2016 as a teller at the Tyler West Loop office.  She was promoted to teller operations supervisor for that location in 2018.  In 2019, she left the bank to work in her family’s insurance business, however, took the opportunity to return to the bank in 2022 in her current role.  Since taking over the position, Jasiee has worked diligently to reestablish a connection between the bank and the Big Sandy community.  She is an active member of the Lions Club of Big Sandy where she serves as Treasurer, represents the bank at after-hours events, and has developed several successful fundraisers.  In addition, she works with the Big Sandy Chamber of Commerce as well as Big Sandy ISD.

Jasiee has been described as loving people and loving life.  She is always willing to help anyone she can, and has a calming demeanor enabling her to read her employees and know what they need.  Perhaps the best description of Jasiee comes from her coworker, Shamel Shipman – Assistant Vice President and Relationship Manager in Big Sandy.  She shares, “Jasiee has a gift of speaking to and reassuring customers like no one I’ve ever worked with.  She is extremely professional, friendly, calm, and confident in any given situation.  Her smile lights up a room and she’s a breath of fresh air to our customers.  I’m so proud to work with her and know our customers are being taken care of.”  Shamel continues, “Jasiee is so good at introducing herself to customers, talking with them, and thanking them for their business.  Even in awkward situations when she has to tell someone no, she does it with grace and ease.  She is the same way with our staff – very patient when teaching or explaining things to them, and communicating in ways that are easy to understand.  She is great at motivating our team and keeps us well informed of any updates and changes at our branch meetings.”

Jasiee is a resident of Mineola and loves spending time with her family, especially in her role as aunt to four nephews.  Her hobbies include karaoke, dancing, baking and soaking in the sunshine.  She is a graduate of Van High School and Stephen F. Austin State University.  Jasiee has completed the Austin Bank Leadership Class and serves as a mentor for new employees.

“Jasiee is a born leader and a great example to those she manages as well as her peers.  She strives to help others and gives 110% in everything she does.  There is no one more deserving of this recognition.  She is truly a star!”

Kelly Tunnell, Senior Vice President/Director of Retirement Products and Retail Compliance, Van

“Every day Jasiee comes to work with a smile and willing to help.  She’s always positive and everyone in our town and surrounding area absolutely loves her.  Jasiee makes you feel welcomed, truly listens, and will help you make the best decision.  I’m so glad she is getting this recognition for being a wonderful person in our community and in the bank.”

April James, Teller, Big Sandy

“Jasiee exhibits impressive customer service skills, making sure that each customer feels appreciated and understood.  She has a natural talent for problem-solving and is willing to persevere until a solution is found.  Jasiee is an asset to Austin Bank and I am proud to have her as part of the Rural Market team.”
