Description
First State Bank of Frankston opened its doors on January 20, 1909. Soon thereafter, John F. Austin was elected President. Later, his son, Jeff Austin, Sr., took over the role of President and Chairman, serving until his death in 1997. He was succeeded by his son, Jeff Austin, Jr. and then Jeff Austin III. The Austin family has been committed to providing financial services to the community of Frankston for several generations. The bank merged with Austin Bank and the name was changed in 2010. The foundation built on the strong principles of their founders and leaders remains in place and supports a lengthy future ahead. Today, the Frankston office continues to offer the financial products needed by families and businesses throughout East Texas - checking accounts, savings accounts, consumer loans, business loans, mortgages and more - with convenient lobby and drive-thru hours.
