September 2016 - Star of the Month - Kim Raney

by Austin Bank 14. September 2016 12:15

This month’s Star has been a member of the Austin Bank team for more than 15 years.  She joined a department that serves the needs of our lending staff here at the Bank and goes mostly unnoticed by others.  Please join us in congratulating Kim Raney, SVP/Senior Credit Analyst, Longview Greggton, as our September Star of the Month.

Hired in 2001 as a Credit Analyst, Kim has spent her time since learning every nuance of the job.  Her eight years’ prior banking experience in underwriting provided a strong foundation on which to build. Taking over leadership of the department in 2004, she continues to play an integral role in maintaining the high quality loan environment the Bank is known for.  “Kim and her department are an integral part of the lending team as they greatly assist the Bank in obtaining new relationships, managing existing relationships and assessing the Bank’s loan portfolio for risk,” commented Russ Gideon, SEVP/Chief Lending Officer, Jacksonville.

“I have never had a more family oriented, considerate supervisor,” shares Brandi Morton, Credit Analyst, Longview Greggton.  “She helps each of us in the Analyst department feel like we are part of a team.”   Billy Mullins, SEVP/Risk Management in Longview Greggton, adds, “Kim is an excellent mentor to the new analysts selected for this department.”   For those who do not know, the Credit Analysts determine the quality of prospective loans; review credit files and information from loan officers; in addition to preparing profitability models and packages for Loan Committee members.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Kim is a graduate of Captain Shreve High School in Louisiana where she was a rifle and flag twirler, and the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville with a degree in Business Administration.  She has completed numerous professional trainings throughout the years, including the Austin Bank STAR program in 2013 and the Bank’s Leadership Defined program in 2007.

She and her daughter, Emma, live in White Oak with their three dogs Jack, Cookie and Molly.  Kim loves Disney World, Florida beaches and rescue dogs.  (Two of her three dogs were rescued.)  A member of First United Methodist Church in Longview, Kim serves as a Children’s Sunday School Teacher and enjoys volunteering with other community groups including the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

“Kim continues to successfully lead the Credit Analyst department in their quest to compile pertinent, detailed and accurate information for the lenders and loan committees.  Analyzing and organizing loan packages is a tough job; however, Austin Bank’s superior loan quality over the years is in part due to Kim’s hard work, dedication and departmental leadership. “

Rick Waldrop, SEVP/Chief Credit Officer, Whitehouse

“Having worked with many different credit departments as both an examiner and a consultant, Kim Raney operates the best program I have ever seen.  Not only is she one of the best leaders in the Bank, it is with pride that I include Kim on a short list of my very best friends.”

Billy Mullins, SEVP/Risk Management, Lonvgiew Greggton

“Kim’s leadership of the Credit Analyst department is excellent.  She has a tremendous desire to help others within the Bank meet expectations, whether customer service related or internally.  Her commitment to Austin Bank and her fellow coworkers is second to none!”

Russ Gideon, SEVP/Chief Lending Officer, Jacksonville
