October 2017 - Star of the Month - Bobby Sisco

by Austin Bank 10. October 2017 16:59

Mark Twain said, “It’s never wrong to do the right thing.”  This statement encompasses all this month’s Star is known for.  His coworkers and community members cannot say enough good things regarding his service to others.   His self-sacrifice, dedication and positive attitude are an encouragement to all who encounter him.  Congratulations to Bobby Sisco, VP/Relationship Manager in Bullard, on being our Star of the Month for October.

“It’s the small things when it comes to Bobby,” comments Laura Stremmel, Teller Operations Supervisor in Bullard.  “When he can, he will open the door for ladies and the elderly.  He always has a sincere, polite and helpful attitude about him.”  Never one to seek recognition, Bobby does many things to help others whether they are Bank customers or community members.  Recently when walking back to his office from the printer, Bobby witnessed an elderly man using a walker stumble and fall.  The gentleman was across the way from the Bank, but Bobby left quickly to assist in any way he could.  Patiently assisting the gentleman up, he then sat with him until family members arrived.  He has also been known to provide car repair assistance to customers in the drive through or change flat tires for fellow employees.

Bobby came to work for First National Bank of Bullard in 1991.  Taking a short break to work as a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Bobby returned to the bank in 2002 and remained through the transition to Austin Bank in 2004.  During his tenure he has held many roles – in bookkeeping, as a Teller, in New Accounts, and loan officer.  The experience gained in each of these positions make it possible for him to be a true team player in the Bullard office.  Luan Smith, Loan Assistant in Bullard, shares, “Austin Bank is better because Bobby is here.  He goes above and beyond his loan officer duties to help in all areas in order to give our customers the best service and attention they deserve.”  She describes his current job duties as “loan officer, plumber, handyman, greeter, Teller, all and anything he is asked to do.”  But, do not let the sweet smile fool you - coworkers share that Bobby is always “up to something”.  He is the life of the party in the Bullard office, and makes coming to work fun.

Bobby and his wife, April, live in Bullard with their four children – John, Lila, Alice and Walker.  A graduate of Bullard High School and Tyler Junior College, he is a member of the Bullard Kiwanis Club.   Time spent with his family is his favorite out of office activity, however when he is not busy doing that, Bobby also enjoys restoring old cars and hunting.

“Bobby exudes daily what Austin Bank stands for.  He truly cares for his family, coworkers and community.  We are lucky to have him as a part of our family.”

Laura Stremmel, Teller Operations Supervisor, Bullard

“Bobby is a team player willing to take on any role in the Bank.  Customer service is very important to him – often going above and beyond to insure we are providing the excellent service the Bank is known for.  I am proud to have Bobby as part of our Bullard family.”

Faye Dotson, VP/Retail Office Manager, Bullard

“Bobby is a great asset for the Smith County market.  His great personality accompanied by the care and concern he shows each person he comes in contact with make him a favorite of customers and coworkers alike.”

Jeff King, SVP/Regional President, Tyler Cumberland Park
