by Austin Bank 8. November 2016 15:49

Our November Star is a wonderful representative of Austin Bank and its core values, while exhibiting hardworking, supportive qualities to her peers on a daily basis.  Her dedication to the job is admired and her fun-loving spirit is welcomed by those she works with.  Congratulations, Shirley Coe, SVP/Loan Document Manager, on your selection as our November Star of the Month.

Working hard to create and maintain an atmosphere of teamwork in the Centralized Loan Document (CLD) department, Shirley always displays a positive attitude.  Leading by example, Shirley fosters an atmosphere of comradery and treating others how you would like to be treated.   “No matter how many phone calls or how many emails Shirley has on her desk, if you need help she puts her work down and helps you with a big smile on her face,” shares Donna Jacks, Loan Document Specialist.  She continues,  “I have worked in many different places but have never worked with such a close team and it’s all due to our leader.  She is loved by everyone.”

Shirley joined Austin Bank in early 2008 as part of the CLD department based in Whitehouse.  Prior to joining the bank, she spent 14 years working as a paralegal.  With a total of 15 years of experience in the banking and mortgage industry, Coe is now the manager of the department supervising a large staff and was recently promoted to Senior Vice President.

A graduate of Crockett High School, Angelina College, Massey Business College and Stephen F. Austin University, she is currently enrolled at the Southwest Graduate School of Banking and has recently completed her first year.  She attended the 2009 Texas Bankers Association Compliance School and continues to attend the Compliance Update School each year. In addition, she has completed TBA’s Branch Leadership School, the Austin Bank Leadership class, Community Banker’s Lending School and the Austin Bank STAR Leadership program.

Shirley shines not only at the Bank, but also in her community.  Active in her church as well as her city, Shirley has served on the Bullard Economic Development Council and works with the local Junior Achievement program.  In addition, she is currently serving her fourth term on the Bullard City Council. She and her husband, Jody, live in Bullard and enjoy spending time travelling and with their three children, daughter-in-law and granddaughter.

“Shirley is a self-driven employee consistently working to ensure all Austin Bank loans meet the Bank’s policies as well as compliance.  Her dedication to detail as well as departmental and Bank-wide training has contributed to the many acceptable OCC reviews the Bank has gone through.”

Rick Waldrop, SEVP/Chief Credit Officer, Whitehouse

“Shirley makes every effort to work with her peers and subordinates, to ensure that everyone is informed and prepared.  I have never had a more qualified, kind, accommodating, or efficient supervisor.”

Nick Lusk, Operations Officer/CLD Assistant Manager, Whitehouse CLD

“Shirley is an encyclopedia of knowledge, especially in regards to real estate.  She is always willing to help and follow up to make sure you received answers to questions she might not know the answer to.  Her sincerity and positive attitude is appreciated.”

Ken Allen, SVP/Relationship Manager, Tyler Downtown
