Aristotle stated, “We are what we do repeatedly. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” It is her habits of diligent work, proficient customer service and dedication to her team that has earned Sherry Chambers, Teller in Frankston, this month’s Star of the Month honors for her excellent service to Austin Bank and its customers.
Sherry joined the Austin Bank team in 2005 bringing with her two previous years of banking experience and more than 19 years working in customer service. In the day to day operations of the Bank, she routinely looks for things that need to be done, and is very much a self-starter. Stepping up to help other tellers, assisting customers and aiding other Bank employees when needed, Sherry does it all with a gracious attitude. One example stated in her nomination included a time when the office was short on staff due to personnel changes and maternity leave. Sherry stepped up and became a leader, working extra hours to make sure everything was covered and mentoring a new employee to get her started and settled. Sherry takes great pride in the service she provides, and embodies the Austin Bank core values of honesty, service, and integrity.
Sherry and her husband, David, reside in Frankston with Rocky – their Great Dane. They have one daughter and son-in-law, Kristy and Chris, and a granddaughter, Kylie. Outside of the Bank, Sherry enjoys being “Nana”, traveling with her mother, and boating on the local lakes.
