August 2015 - Star of the Month - Shawn Eyre

by Austin Bank 13. August 2015 08:28

Reading through the list of characteristics for an Austin Bank Star, this month’s recipient can place a check mark beside each. High standards of ethics and morals, a positive attitude, pride in a job well done, teamwork and community involvement have earned him the nomination by his peers.  For these reasons, we proudly announce Shawn Eyre, Vice President/Commercial Lender, as our August Star of the Month.

“Shawn’s friendly demeanor and professionalism have won him a huge customer following and the respect of his co-workers” shares Nathan Jones, EVP/Regional President, Cherokee Region.  His high moral values and business ethics along with esteem for customer confidentiality set the bar for fellow team members.  Working in a small community, Shawn says having his commitment to confidentiality recognized by his customers is one of the highest compliments he can receive.  He has been described as a very ‘hands-on’ boss, never expecting anything he is not willing to do himself, and always willing to learn more to better serve his customers.

Not only passionate and focused on his work, Shawn is described as having a positive attitude that is undoubtedly contagious. Often bringing a smile to the faces of those in contact with his fun-loving spirit and humor, jokes have been made that he may have missed his true calling in show business.

A member of the Austin Bank family for 28 years, Shawn is a graduate of Jacksonville High School, Tyler Junior College, Stephen F. Austin State University and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking.  He and his wife, ReNae, live in Jacksonville where they enjoy spending time with their family – one daughter, a son and daughter-in-law. Shawn is very active in the community, working with numerous organizations, and serves as a Deacon at Cornerstone Baptist Church. He enjoys taking cruises with his wife and playing sports – racquetball and volleyball – with friends and coworkers.

“Shawn is a great help to me when I need his assistance with a customer. He treats all of his customers like they are family when they come to see him and always wants to learn more about the retail side of the Bank so he is able to help when customers have a retail issue.”

Amy Pate, Retail Office Manager, Jacksonville Main

“Shawn is an absolute joy to work with! He is greatly respected by co-workers and customers due to his keen personality and years of trustworthiness.”

Mollie Trawick, Loan Assistant, Jacksonville Main

“Shawn always displays a willingness to lend a hand to his colleagues and keeps the office in stitches with his sense of humor.”

Nathan Jones, EVP/Regional President, Cherokee Region

Shawn is one of the reasons we love using Austin Bank. My husband has taken loans through Shawn for over twenty five years now, and we can't imagine going through another lender or lending officer. Thank you for being there for us!

I have never met anyone in banking or other business that listens and is genuinely concerned about your situations... I have always been able to talk to him about all my banking.  I am proud to call him a friend.

When my husband died Austin Bank in Jacksonville helped so much. Not only with paperwork, but emotional support. They helped with the loan on the vehicle involved in the accident. Shawn was always encouraging, helpful, and very kind. I will always remember their assistance. They also helped when my parents passed within two years of each other and my husbands death. I have been with Austin Bank for over twenty years. I am from the Chicago area and they helped with that transition also.
