April 2018 - Star of the Month - Geri Lynn Wright

by Austin Bank 11. April 2018 12:00

When you consider the attributes of an Austin Bank Star, the one that jumps out in regards to this month’s honoree is “loves their job; does it well”.  As information was gathered, more than one person reported that our April Star is always the “first to jump in and help with anything.”  Please join us in congratulating Geri Lynn Wright, VP/Relationship Manager, on this esteemed honor.

“Geri Lynn ALWAYS goes above and beyond with customers as well as coworkers,” shares Pamela Brown, Loan Assistant in Palestine.  “She will sacrifice to help everyone without any hesitation.”  These words were repeated in praise of Geri Lynn by multiple coworkers.  Joining the Austin Bank family in 2004, Geri Lynn brought with her 28 years of previous banking experience where she served the lending needs of the Palestine community at Service Savings and Loan Association, First National Bank and Hibernia National Bank.  She is responsible for all secondary market mortgage loans for Palestine and assists with commercial and consumer lending.  Well loved by her customers for her attention to detail and willingness to help, she is also known for her care of team members in her office.  “Geri Lynn is a blessing to this location,” commented Darrell Thompson, Retail Office Manager in Palestine.  “She could come to work and just be a lender, but she is a tremendous help to the Tellers as well.  Often electing to open with the Tellers, helping to process the night drop and complete morning duties, Geri Lynn is always willing to lend a hand no matter where the hand is needed.”

Geri Lynn and her husband, Billy Jack, live in Elkhart where they have two dogs, along with many horses and donkeys.  (Rumor says 100 donkeys, but you will have to confirm that with her.)  She enjoys rodeos and cooking, often sharing her homemade mac and cheese and biscuits with the office.  Geri Lynn has one daughter and son-in-law.  She is a graduate of Elkhart High School and Anderson College Center.

“Geri Lynn is always the first person to jump in and help with anything.  Her kindness to everyone is uncomparable.  I am grateful for the opportunity to work with her.”

Pamela Brown, Loan Assistant, Palestine

“I have never worked with anyone more willing to help their fellow coworker than Geri Lynn.  She takes care of her loan customers, gets here early to help the Tellers and still finds time to make us something delicious to eat every so often.  This is a well-deserved honor for an exceptional person.”

Brad Anderson, VP/Location President, Palestine

“There is no one like Geri Lynn.  She is the ‘momma bear’ of the Palestine office and takes care of everyone.  She has taught me so much both professionally and personally, and is definitely a step above all others.”

Christy Fincher, Loan Assistant, Palestine
