April 2015 - Star of the Month - VarSherrie McMiller

by Austin Bank 15. April 2015 16:09

Excellent customer service skills coupled with a bright smile have garnered this month’s Star a customer following willing to travel a few extra miles to receive the level of care she provides.  A shining example of the Austin Bank Service Non-Negotiables, VarSherrie McMiller, Teller Operations Supervisor at Tyler Med Center, proudly sets the bar for her fellow employees.   We are happy to recognize her as our April Star of the Month.

VarSherrie’s banking career began with Austin Bank in 2004 when she started as a part time Teller at the Tyler South location.  Her eagerness to learn new things and grow professionally resulted in opportunities to advance into a full time Teller position, then to Customer Service Representative and Loan Assistant before she assumed her current role as Teller Operations Supervisor.  Working in many of the offices in the Tyler market during her tenure, she has earned the respect not only of customers, but also her coworkers.  “The best way to describe VarSherrie is by saying she is a compassionate professional.  While working with VarSherrie at Tyler West Loop she showed to be a customer favorite and true team player.  She has worked in several areas of the Bank and that makes her a valuable asset to any office in which she works,” shared Gabriel Mendoza, Commercial Lender, Tyler Downtown.  Other employees echo that sentiment, adding that VarSherrie’s willingness to help and her friendly demeanor reinforce the feeling of family at Austin Bank and make them feel “at home” here.  With experience in multiple areas of the Bank’s operations, VarSherrie is able to assist with many tasks and does so frequently.

VarSherrie and her husband, Torrey, live in Tyler with their two sons – Caleb, 13, and Cadarius, 6.  She is a graduate of John Tyler High School, Tyler Junior College and the University of Texas at Tyler where she received a degree in Marketing.  When not spending time with her family, VarSherrie is a volunteer for PATH and Junior Achievement, helping teach financial education.

“I feel very fortunate to have VarSherrie as our Teller Operations Supervisor in the Med Center office.  Her ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to help co-workers and customers are of great value to me.  It is difficult to express just how much I care for, respect and admire her.”

Margaret Mullinnix, Retail Office Manager, Tyler Med Center

“VarSherrie always has such a happy, contagious smile.  She is always willing to help when and where needed.”

Maria Davenport, Retail Market Manager, Smith County

“VarSherrie lights up a room with her infectious smile.  She has a following of loyal customers in Tyler that will visit whichever location she is assigned.  Varsherrie’s genuine disposition and positive attitude make her a great asset to Austin Bank.”

Toni Davis, Retail Office Manager, Tyler West Loop
