Austin Bank names John P. Williams New President and Chief Executive Officer

John Williams Austin Bank Chairman, Jeff Austin, Jr., announced the promotion of John P. Williams to President and Chief Executive Officer of Austin Bank at the March Board of Directors meeting. Williams succeeds
Ronny E. Lee and will office at the Austin Bank Corporate headquarters in Jacksonville, Texas.

Williams joined the Austin family banks in 1991 as President/CEO and Director of the First National Bank of Whitehouse. In 1999, he was promoted to Senior Executive Vice President/Operations. Williams became Austin Bank’s Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2005.

Williams began his banking career 33 years ago in 1973 as a bank teller. Prior to his work with Austin Bank, Williams was President/CEO and Director of Texas American Bank-Prestonwood and Texas American Bank-Plano.

Williams currently serves on the Board of Directors for Trinity Mother Frances Hospital Foundation Board and the Austin Bank Corp., Inc., Austin Bank Texas, N.A. He has been active in the South Tyler Rotary Club, Tyler Catholic School System, Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement.

Williams, a resident of Whitehouse, is a native of Louisiana and graduate of Natchitoches High School. Williams attended Louisiana State University and Northwestern State University. He is a graduate of the American Institute of Banking, Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU and National Commercial Lending School in Norman, Oklahoma.
