AUSTIN BANK AWARDS $34,500 IN COMMITMENT-TO-COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIPS

May 25, 2007: In the spirit of the dedication to the East Texas communities we serve and to our employees, this year Austin Bank is proud to award 25 scholarships totaling $34,500.
Austin Bank Vice Chairman of the Board Jeff Austin, III congratulated the winners. “All of these fine students are to be commended for their efforts and their educational plans. After reviewing all the scholarship applications, we are proud to recognize how committed these young people are to their education and their community,” Austin stated.
“We are honored to assist these students, their families and the East Texas community by providing funds for education, Austin said.
Scholarships were presented to 24 East Texas high school seniors in communities served by Austin Bank and to one Austin Bank employee child. Scholarship recipients were selected based on scholastic achievement, extracurricular activity involvement, leadership qualities and essay content.

Since the implementation of the scholarship program in 2005, Austin Bank has awarded a total of $59,500 to East Texas graduating seniors.
